Experienced seed growers are rare to find and keeping a strong supply of locally adapted seeds avaialble for the Online Markeplace has been a challenge! Our farmers decided to solve this challenge by joining together and building an 10 session online seed production course that will provide experienced vegetable growers an opportunity to grow out seed in their home gardens while learning from experienced local seed growers the critical methodology and protocols needed to successfully produce healthy and viable seed . Beginning in January 2025 and continuing through May 2025, our experienced team of seed growers will lead participants through a 5-month, 10-session online seed production course that will demonstrate small scale cultivation and seed production methods of 4 specialty crops grown in a variety of areas across Hawaii. Online classes will feature a new growing or seed saving topic.
